A Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) with over 17 years of work experience, Eng. Agness Mofya Mwansa is an Engineering Superintendent at Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) and also is a member of the KCM integrity committee.
Eng. Agness is a holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Zambia and a Master's Degree in Control Systems Engineering from the Han University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Driven by a passion to learn, she is currently pursuing a master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of Zambia.
Eng. Agness' impact extends beyond KCM as she once served as a board director and chairperson for the technical and procurement committee of Zambia's Rural Electrification Authority (REA). She has also served as a board member and vice chairperson for the Aircraft Accidents and Investigations Board (AAIB). Currently serving as a non-executive director of GEI Power Limited and also a current member of the Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (ZCLL) Board of Directors. Eng. Agness co-founded the Zambia Women in Engineering Section (ZWES) which was launched in 2016 and is the current ZWES Chairperson. She actively participates in regional and continental initiatives, serving on the Women in engineering committees of the Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO) and Southern African Federation of Engineering Organisations (SAFEO) – Women in Engineering Standing Technical Committee.
