On August 10th, Launcher Engineers Hub (LEH) proudly hosted its inaugural flagship peer mentorship graduation
at the Link Park Conference Centre in Kitwe. This momentous occasion marked the culmination of a rigorous
6-month training and mentorship program, designed to empower and equip students with essential skills and
knowledge.
Twenty-seven dedicated individuals graduated from the program, demonstrating their commitment to personal
and professional growth. The ceremony was attended by esteemed guest speakers including:
- Snr. Eng. Douglas Bbela General Manager Engineering (Mopani Copper Mines Plc) - Guest of Honour
- Hon Snr. Eng. Christopher C. Kang’ombe Member of Parliament (Kamfinsa Constituency) - Guest of Honour
- Dr Prisca Tente PhD Senior Civil Engineer (Central and Eastern Region) - Keynote Speaker
- Eng. Edith Vwalika - EIZ Vice President MCPD - Guest Speaker
- Eng. Maambo Malambo Assistant Chief Engineer (Kansanshi Mining Plc) - Guest Speaker
- Eng. Joseph Malisawa Founder and CEO (Extrusion Works Limited and DiTec Engineering Limited) - Guest Speaker
- Eng. Kabwe Musonda Mutashi Board Chair of the National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (NISIR) in Zambia - Guest Speaker
- Ms. Nampaka Nkumbula Head of Experimentation AccLab (UNDP) - Guest Speaker
These distinguished individuals offered words of encouragement and inspiration to the graduates,
emphasizing the importance of perseverance, innovation, and collaboration. We also had the privilege
of being graced by many leaders from the industry and academia.
