LauncHER Engineer's Hub (LEH) Embarks on University Tour šŸ“£

In the quest to bridge the gap between academia and the industry, LauncHER Engineers Hub (LEH) successfully conducted a university tour under the theme Engineers Connect from Learning to Leading, visiting the Northern Technical College (NORTEC) on the 30th of October 2024 and the University of Zambia (UNZA) on the 2nd of November 2024, with Mulungushi University still to come.

At LauncHER Engineers Hub, we have full confidence in the potential of our members to emerge as successful engineerpreneurs. We eagerly anticipate witnessing their journey unfold.

The tour reached over 350 student and graduate engineers, imparting essential skills and knowledge to navigate the industry. LEH's tour mission focused on CV writing, financial literacy and management, interview preparation and techniques as well as innovation support for entrepreneurs and guidance

Ten renowned speakers of various professionals shared their expertise:

- Mr Collins Musonda and Ms Taziona.T Mwale, Human Resource experts covered the topics of CV writing and how to conduct oneself during interviews at NORTEC and UNZA respectively
- Eng. Mwaba Mwela gave an in-depth of financial Literacy, at UNZA
- Eng Tutashalesa Mulunda and Ms Mara Zhanet talked on innovation support, and entrepreneurship in Zambia at NORTEC and UNZA respectively
- ā Eng Misozi Masaninga, MSc, REng, BEng, MEIZ ERB. Eng. Tausi Chamululu and Eng Dr. Kakoma Chilala shared their success stories and Leaders in Engineering
- ā Ms Katrina Ketty Kabaso from the U.S. Embassy Zambia educated the UNZA audience on the education opportunities in the US, including scholarships and leadership programs for the youth
- ā Eng Yvonne (C) Shumba spoke on the power of Networking for engineers, tips and strategies

We also had renowned engineers attend the events including Eng. Olga Mamonwa (UNZA), Eng. Kasonso the principal of Nortec

LauncHER Engineers Hub donated PPE gear worth close to K10,000 to students, including 40 hard hats, 40 reflective vests and 26 safety goggles to our lucky winners.

The tour's final leg will visit Mulungushi University, aiming to impact over 100 students. We would like to invite potential partners and sponsors to join forces in empowering young engineers, particularly women, to excel in the industry.
