Engineer Pilila Chongo is a highly experienced entrepreneurial consultant with 14 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering with Distinction, with a focus on climate change and water pollution monitoring, from The Copperbelt University. She also has a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, specializing in water engineering, from the University of Zambia. Furthermore, she is an alumna of the WeCreate Academy for Women Entrepreneurs, funded by USAID, and has obtained the prestigious COWI Denmark Project Management Diploma.
Engineer Pilila Chongo has extensive experience in consultancy, focusing on project feasibility studies, environmental management, stakeholder engagements, environmental quality modelling, climate change risk assessments, and safeguards inclusion into engineering designs for locally and internationally funded projects of various scales. Her sector portfolio spans water resources and dams, telecommunications, energy, water supply, sanitation, manufacturing, agriculture, roads, mining, buildings, community development, and biodiversity in Southern, Central, and East Africa. Additionally, she provides support to the United Nations Office for Project Services (Kenya) and an International Financial Institution on local and regional infrastructure development projects.
She is the Co-founder and Director of Operations and Marketing at EcoPICH Engineering Limited, a female-owned environmental engineering consultancy firm established in 2019, which specializes in providing services such as hazardous waste management, licensing and regulatory compliance, climate change assessments, environmental assessments, health and safety assessments, safeguards audits, biodiversity assessments, and construction-related services to clients from diverse industries
